Toshiba, Sony, IBM Introduce Low-Power Cell Processor at CEATEC

According to Bloomberg, a low-power Cell processor, co-developed by Toshiba, IBM, and Sony, was recently debuted at Tokyo's CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) Japan 2006. The offering, which will consume less power and feature higher performance than the current Cell offerings, is expected to be embedded into mobile handheld devices, including mobile phones, by 2010.
